The Mission of the Housing Authority of Calera & Montevallo is to provide the necessary number of affordable, decent, safe, and sanitary dwelling units within its jurisdiction; to administer, professionally and accurately, the programs authorized by the Board of Commissioners and Congress; and to professionally maintain the property that has been developed throughout its intended useful life.

MONTEVALLO HOUSING AUTHORITY Taking Applications

Montevallo Housing Authorities hereby give notice that we will be taking Applications for 2 Bedroom apartments ONLY for Low Income Public Housing. It will re-open on December 1st, 2025. The waiting list will remain open until further notice. The applications will be taken at the Calera office located at 1645 21st Ave, Calera, AL. Monday – Friday from 8 am - 3 pm; You can come by and pick up an application in the office, or you can access a printable application through our website at wwww.calera-montevallohousing.com You must have a Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Photo ID and Proof of Income for all family members to turn in with the application.

Your application will not be processed without these documents. We will not accept partial applications or “hold” applications that do not have all required documents.

If your application does not qualify for a 2-BR unit, it will also not be processed.

We have a Local Preference system that will apply at the time you apply that will determine your placement on the waiting list.

Elderly or Disabled	100 Points
Catastrophic Displacement	75 Points
Employed more than 6 months	50 Points
On Waiting List for more than 1 year.	25 Points (after 1 year)
